TRITON CLASSIC AND HOMECOMING WEEKEND
The UC San Diego men's and women's cross country teams will host the 23rd Annual Triton Classic on Saturday during Homecoming weekend. The women's race will begin at 8 a.m. and the men follow at 8:45 a.m. Both races start at RIMAC Field and end at Triton Track & Field Stadium.

Terrain: The course varies in terrain from grass to dirt trails with concrete and asphalt mixed in.

Admission is free.
Parking is available, free of charge, in the Hopkins Parking Structure. Follow the Campus Loop Road past Triton Track & Field Stadium (on left). The Hopkins Parking Structure will be located on the right side, adjacent to RIMAC Arena. For more info on directions, click here.
NATIONAL RANKING
The UCSD men and women are ranked 25th and 24th, respectively, in the latest U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) national poll. For full national rankings, click here.
THE COMPETITION
The field is made up primarily of Division II opponents including fellow California Collegiate Athletics Association (CCAA) rivals Cal Poly Pomona, Cal State LA and Cal State San Bernardino. There will also be a handful of unattached runners competing.

HISTORY LESSON
Saturday will mark the 23rd annual running of the Triton Classic. The UCSD men finished in first place in 2011, 2012 and 2014. The women came out winners in 2005, 2011 and 2014. For a recap of last year's Triton Classic, click here.
20 CLASSICS FOR GARCIA
Saturday's meet will represent the 20th straight Triton Classic for head coach Nate Garcia. A former UCSD student-athlete in cross country, Garcia first ran for the Tritons during the fourth annual Triton Classic in 1996 and competed in his last one in 2000. Ever since the ninth running of the Triton Classic in 2001, Garcia has attended the meet as a member of the UCSD coaching staff.
LOCAL REPRESENTATION
This season's rosters feature many student-athletes from the San Diego area. The men's list includes Nick Famolaro (San Diego/West Hills HS), Aren Johnson (San Diego/Army Navy Academy) and Brendan Gee (Rancho Bernardo/Rancho Bernardo HS). Women hailing from San Diego County include Raelene deArmas (Chula Vista/Bonita Vista Senior HS), Alexandra Hernandez (El Cajon/Granite Hills HS), Paige Hughes (San Diego/Valhalla HS), Christa Kloha (San Diego/Westview HS), Kristin Semancsin (San Diego/Valhalla HS), Ella Verhees (San Diego/Point Loma HS) and Amanda Weber (San Diego/Westview HS).
