Christian Hatch Named to All-CCAA Second Team

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - UC San Diego senior center Christian Hatch was named to the 2011-12 All-California Collegiate Athletic Association Second Team, it was announced by the conference office on Wednesday.

Hatch had a tremendous season for the Tritons, averaging team-highs of 12.5 points and 7.3 rebounds in 24 games during the regular season. He also led UCSD in field goal percentage, shooting 51% from the floor. A two-time second team all-conference selection, Hatch scored in double figures a total of 15 times and finished with three double-doubles on the year, including an impressive 16-point, 14-rebound effort against Cal State East Bay on January 13.

A native of Henderson, Nev., Hatch missed four games with a wrist injury in January, but returned to the lineup and averaged just under 13 points on 60% shooting in UCSD's final six games. He also hauled down 8.0 rebounds over that span.

The Tritons concluded the season with an overall record of 10-17 and finished 11th in the CCAA standings after going 6-16 in conference play. UCSD won four out of seven from January 14 through February 4 to stay in the hunt for a CCAA Tournament berth, but saw its postseason hopes come to an end with back-to-back home losses to Chico State and Cal State Stanislaus February 10-11.
