HISTORIC PROPORTIONS
The Tritons' 8-0-4 record in their first 12 matches is their longest span without a loss to start a season since joining NCAA Division II in 2000. The best previous start was the 2007 UCSD team that lost their 12^th contest after a 10-0-1 start. The last time UCSD started the year undefeated in its first 12 contests was in 1994, when the Tritons were without a loss for their first 17 matches (14-0-3) before losing to Trenton State College (NJ) in the NCAA Division III National Championship. UCSD's 12 matches without a loss to start 2011 is the fifth-longest such streak in school history. The school record for consecutive matches without a loss to start the season is 22 (20-0-2), way back in 1988 when the Tritons were national runners-up for the first time in school history.

STAND IN THE PLACE WHERE YOU ARE
UCSD is fine with where it stands after a pair of scoreless ties over the weekend. Despite dropping from No. 2 to No. 6 in the NSCAA Top 25, UCSD leads the California Collegiate Athletic Association South Division with 24 points, four points ahead of second-place Cal State L.A. With six matches left, the Tritons hold the top overall mark in the conference with five more points than the CCAA North's first-place team, Sonoma State (19 points). At this point, UCSD can guarantee a CCAA Tournament berth with four wins over its last six matches. The Tritons have qualified for the CCAA Tournament the last 11 seasons.

EAGLE-ITARIANS
No. 20 Cal State L.A. is one of only five programs nationally to have both the men's and women's teams ranked in the Top 20. Rollins, Northern Kentucky, California (PA) and Seattle Pacific are the others. CSULA was ranked 11^th earlier in the season when UCSD beat the Golden Eagles 1-0 on September 9. Sarah McTigue scored in the third minute in that match and the Tritons held on the rest of the way for a one-goal victory. The Golden Eagles are 6-0-2 over their last eight games and are coming off a 3-0 win over Sonoma State and a 2-1 victory at Humboldt State. UCSD is 2-0-1 against ranked teams this year.

TOROS TREK TO TOWN
Cal State Dominguez Hills is in fifth place in the CCAA South after a win and a loss in CCAA play last weekend. CSUDH beat HSU on Friday with a second half goal, 1-0, before missing a penalty kick in a 1-0 loss to SSU on Sunday. The Tritons took down the Toros 1-0 on September 23 at the Home Depot Center Main Stadium in the first clash between the teams this season. Ellen Wilson scored the lone goal in the 12^th minute off a corner kick from Hayley Johnson.

ROAD TRIP NOT POINTLESS
UCSD's six-match win streak ended on Friday with a 0-0 tie at Chico State. Kristin Armstrong stopped a season-high nine shots in goal, as the Wildcats outshot the Tritons, 17-13, and had five corner kicks to UCSD's four. Armstrong then blocked seven shots in UCSD's 0-0 tie on Sunday at Cal State Stanislaus, a match that saw nine Triton corners compared with two for the Warriors. By earning two points on their last road trip of the season, the Tritons stayed four points up on Cal State L.A. in the CCAA South.

MUNCHIES
Johnson needs one assist to move into the Tritons' all-time top 10 for career assists ... Her 10 assists this season are tied for third-most in the country ... The Tritons have given up only three goals this season, tied for the third-least in NCAA Division II ... UCSD ranks fifth in the nation in shutout percentage (.750) and save percentage (.929) ... The Tritons have the least amount of wins (8) and the most mount of ties (4) of any team ranked 18^th or better in the latest NCSAA national poll.
