Princeton, N.J. ? The 9th-ranked UC San Diego men's water polo team added two more convincing wins on Saturday, defeating George Washington 18-4 and Iona 11-5 on Saturday afternoon at the Princeton Invitational in New Jersey.  Against GW, 10 different Tritons scored and seven had multiple scores.  UCSD used a 5-0 second quarter surge to put the game out of reach.  Sidd Menon led all scorers with three goals.  UCSD started quickly in the win over Iona, scoring four unanswered goals in the quarter to take a 4-0 lead.  A.J. Kotanjian scored a season high four goals, while Steven Donohoe and Jeff Hunt added two goals apiece.

Head Coach Denny Harper is now up to 497 career wins as a Triton. 

Against GW, UCSD led by a slim 3-2 score after the first period and opened up the game with a 5-0 shutout in quarter No. 2, taking an 8-2 lead at the break.  The Tritons scored seven times in the fourth quarter for their season high of 18 goals.  It was the most goals by the Tritons since they scored 19 at last years' Western Water Polo Association Championships against UC Santa Cruz. 

In the 18-4 win, Menon scored three times, with two goals each by Ian Bausback, Daniel Garcia, Peter Gresham, Hunt, Adnan Jerkovic and Mark Saber.  Donohoe, Kneif Lohse and Bryce Madsen also scored.

Against Iona, UCSD led 6-1 at the break.  UCSD put the game out of reach with a four-goal third period and went on to take the game 11-5.  Kotanjian scored four times, while Donohoe and Hunt added two scores each.  Garcia, Lohse and Chance Vermilyea added scores.

UCSD is back in action for day two of the Princeton Invitational.  UCSD takes on Johns Hopkins at 11:30 a.m. (EST), and concludes the day against Navy at 3:00 p.m.
