DAVIS, Calif.  ? The 8th-ranked UC San Diego men's water polo team went scoreless for the first 10 minutes of the contest but defeated No. 11 UC Davis by a 9-6 score at the Schaal Aquatics Center on the Aggie campus.  The Tritons and Aggies were tied at halftime at 3-3 and did not take their first lead until A.J. Kotanjian connected with 2:56 remaining in the third quarter.  UCSD would extend its lead to three goals and never look back as Daniel Garcia scored four times, twice in the fourth quarter.  With the win, UCSD improves to 17-9 while UC Davis drops to 9-14.  UCSD is back in action tomorrow when it takes on Santa Clara at 1:00 p.m. at SCU.

Garcia led the Tritons with four goals while Kotanjian and Steven Donohoe scored two apiece.  Adnan Jerkovic also scored and David Morton recorded five saves.

The Tritons trailed 1-0 after the first quarter and did not get on the board until 5:45 remained in the second quarter as Donohoe poured in a goal. 

Tied 3-3 at halftime, UCD scored at the 5:54 mark in the third to take the lead, but two goals by Kotanjian gave the Tritons a 5-4 lead with 2:56 left in the period.  Jerkovic scored at the 1:28 mark to put UCSD up 6-4 heading into the final quarter.

In the fourth, Garcia scored quickly at the 6:12 mark and UCSD led 7-4.  UCD would cut it down to two goals twice, but the Tritons responded each time.  Garcia scored UCSD's final goal with 1:00 remaining at 9-6 UCSD.
