LA JOLLA, Calif. ? The UC San Diego men's basketball team came out on the wrong side of another overtime game, this time falling by a 97-93 score in double overtime to visiting CSU Monterey Bay on Saturday evening in RIMAC Arena. The loss comes less than 24 hours after suffering a 68-58 overtime loss to San Francisco State and is the third overtime defeat this season for the Tritons who fall to 9-6 overall and 6-4 in CCAA play. CSUMB improves to 4-12 overall and 3-7 in league action.
UCSD junior forward Henry Patterson led all scorers on the night with his career-high 37 points that came by way of an 18-for-20 performance from the floor in the loss. Sophomore Jordan Lawley added 15 while Kelvin Kim and Clint Allard chipped in with 14 and 13 points, respectively.

CSUMB, however, dominated the long distance game, going 14-for-23 (60.9%) from behind the 3-point arc while limiting the Tritons to just 6-for-16 (37.5%). Additionally, the Otters made 15 of 18 shots from the charity stripe while UCSD made only 13 of their 18 foul shot attempts.
The two teams combined for 63 rebounds and only 24 turnovers in the contest with holding a one rebound advantage while turning the ball over two more times. Shane Poppen led UCSD with his seven rebounds while Mitchell grabbed a game-high nine boards in the win for the Otters.
