PASADENA, Calif. ? The UC San Diego fencing team swept every weapon on both the men's and women's side in Pasadena, going up against UCLA, USC, UCSB and Arizona State. The UCSD men defeated Arizona State 24-3, defeated USC 26-1, defeated UCLA 22-5 and defeated UCSB 23-4. Sean Blum went 12-0 in epee, while Cameron Sprowles went 10-0 in foil. On the women's side, UCSD defeated ASU 22-5, defeated USC 27-0, defeated UCLA 19-8 and defeated UCSB 27-0. Florence Lee went 9-0 in foil, while Alexandra Mareschal went 6-0 in saber.
UCSD is back in action in two weeks when it hosts Cal Tech, Cal State Fullerton and UC Irvine at 1:00 p.m. on the La Jolla campus.
Also going undefeated on the men's side included Bryan Kim and Zach Jones. Kim went 9-0 and Jones went 8-0 in men's saber.
Chelsea Ambort completed an undefeated day in women's epee, going 5-0 against her opponents.
