No. 10 UCSD Sweeps CSU Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. ? The Cal State Bakersfield women's tennis team ran into a red?hot UC San Diego squad and walked away on the wrong end of a 9?0 match on the Sally Ann Silva courts in Bakersfield Saturday afternoon.

 

The Tritons, who entered the contest as the No. 10?ranked team in the latest NCAA Division II poll, are the defending CCAA conference champs and ran their record to 3?2 overall and 2?0 in conference play.

 

The Roadrunners, who were playing their third match in a week, fell to 1?4 overall and in CCAA play.

UCSD returns to action on Monday afternoon, playing at Cal State San Bernardino at 12 noon. The Tritons will then return home for a match with Sonoma State on Friday, February 24. That match is slated for a 2 p.m. start at the Northview Tennis Courts on the UCSD campus.
