DAVIS, Calif. ? The 5th-ranked UC San Diego men's water polo team suffered a 6-5 loss against 13th-ranked UC Davis on Friday night at Schaal Aquatics Center. With the score tied at 4-4 in the fourth, Ty Lackey put UCSD ahead with 4:30 remaining. UC Davis answered with scores at 3:32 and 1:02 to pull out the 6-5 win. The Tritons defeated the Aggies earlier this season by a 13-9 score at the Triton Invitational. Lackey and Jesse Casellini scored two goals apiece, while A.J. Kotanjian also scored for UCSD. UCSD is back in action tomorrow with games against No. 17 Air Force at 10:15 a.m. and No. 16 Santa Clara at 2:00 p.m.

UCSD's Casellini got the Tritons on the board at the 3:28 mark in the second, before UCD responded with a score to lead 3-1 at halftime.
In the third, UCD scored to go ahead 4-1, before UCSD rallied with four consecutive goals. UCSD scored the last three goals of the third as Kotanjian (4:16), Casellini (3:22), and Lackey (2:35) rounded out the scoring in the third period with the score at 4-4.
Lackey scored UCSD's fourth straight goal at the 4:30 mark in the fourth to put UCSD ahead 5-4, but the Aggies scored the final two goals of the game.
