CHEYNEY, Wash. ? The UC San Diego men's basketball team dropped its final exhibition game of the 2005-06 season, falling to Eastern Washington by a 75-44 score Sunday evening in Cheyney, Washington. The game was the final tuneup for the Tritons who will take on Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo to open its regular season on Friday night, November 18 at 7 p.m. in Mott Gymnasium.
Clint Allard led the way for the Tritons with eight points on the night while Henry Patteron, Odioh Odiye and Robby Peters each had five points in the loss. Shane Poppen had four points and a team-high five rebounds while Andrew Hatch had three points and a team-high four assists.
Rodney Stuckey had a game-high 21 points for the Eagles in the win while Paul Butorac added 10. Jake Beitinger had eight points and a game-high six rebounds for the Eagles on the night.
Friday night's game at Cal Poly will be the first of nine straight games on the road for the Tritons to begin the 2005-06 campaign. UCSD's first home game will be on January 3 at 4 p.m. against Grand Canyon in RIMAC Arena.
