Corey Robinson was elevated to the position of Assistant AD- Game Management and Facilities in March 2020, after serving 18 months in the position of Director of Events and Operations.

In his role, Robinson oversees game management for each of UC San Diego’s 23 sports home contests and directs all aspects pertaining to postseason championship events held on campus. He served as the tournament director for the 2018, 2019, 2020 NCAA West Regional Women’s Soccer tournament, 2019 Women’s NCAA West Regional Women’s Basketball Tournament, and 2020 NCAA West Regional Men’s Basketball Tournament.

Robinson also coordinates practice and competition scheduling, creates and executes sport contracts, and serves as the athletics representative in project management for capital projects including RIMAC Arena renovations in 2018 and the new basketball locker rooms in 2019.

Previously at UC San Diego, Robinson served as the assistant to the athletics director and office coordinator. He was the primary contact for the Athletics Director's calendar and the administrative liaison between the Athletics Director and campus and conference officials, faculty, staff, students, board members and the general public.

As the office coordinator, Robinson provided day-to-day oversight of the front office, including contest agreements, championships bids, NCAA merchandise, preseason housing, parking, payments to officials and database management.

Robinson has over ten years of experience working for nonprofit athletic organizations. Prior to joining the UC San Diego staff, Robinson was the Sports & Family Director at the Peninsula YMCA in San Diego, where he oversaw all game day operations for youth and adult sports. He coordinated league and tournament schedules, fundraising and managing program travel. He also developed policies and procedures for risk management and best safety practices.

Robinson also spent time at the McGrath Family YMCA in Spring Valley, East County Family YMCA in La Mesa, and the Page Youth Center in Santa Barbara.

A 2008 graduate of the University of California Santa Barbara, Robinson earned a bachelor's degree in geography. While at UCSB, he also studied sports management and exercise psychology.
