Former Triton player Brittany Lombardi was named an assistant coach with the UC San Diego women's volleyball program prior to the 2015 season.
In 2014, Lombardi was the Varsity and JV head coach at York School in Monterey as well as the head coach of Genuine Volleyball Club. She also gained coaching experience with Carmel Beach Volleyball Club (2010-14) and Solana Beach Volleyball Club (2012).
As a libero/defensive specialist for UCSD from 2010-13, Lombardi finished her career with 1,190 digs, which ranks sixth on the school's all-time list. She holds program and CCAA single season records with 644 digs in 2013. Lombardi also set a UCSD single match mark with 42 digs at Cal State Monterey Bay in 2012.
She earned Daktronics All-West Region Second Team accolades in 2013.
A native of Carmel, Lombardi was a four-time All-Mission Trail League selection and team captain at Carmel High School. Twice she was tabbed an All-Monterey County performer. At the club level, Lombardi played with Salinas Valley, Main Beach and Carmel Beach.
She graduated from UCSD in 2014 with a degree in cognitive science and is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
