Zachary Reed was named UC San Diego's Assistant AD for Scholar-Athlete Academic Success in late 2024.

Previously, Reed was at fellow Big West school Cal Poly, where he served as a senior advisor overseeing academics for several teams and coordinating student-athlete development efforts since 2018.

At South Dakota State, he coached a top-20 NCAA Division I wrestling program and  concurrently worked in an enrollment services capacity.

Reed maintains active roles with The National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A), currently serving on its Board of Directors overseeing Educational Services and Initiatives for the organization.

He earned his Master of Education from South Dakota State and received a Bachelor's Degree from Wayne State in 2015.

Reed hails from LeMars, Iowa, known as the "Ice Cream Capital of the World".
