Greenbaum brings more than a decade of sports marketing experience, as well as strong local and institutional familiarity, to the Triton athletics program. As a key member of the department's external operations unit, he will be responsible for helping elevate UC San Diego athletics brand and engagement opportunities as the program continues to progress toward full NCAA Division I membership.
After obtaining a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Oregon, Greenbaum earned a master's degree in sport management from Long Beach State. After spending two years as a marketing assistant at Long Beach State then UCLA, he began an eight-year stint in athletics marketing at San Diego State.
While at SDSU, Greenbaum rose to the position of Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing, Sales and Fulfillment and assisted with, among other things, marketing and gameday efforts related to the recent opening of Snapdragon Stadium in Mission Valley. He also helped the Aztecs grow department attendance, revenues, gameday fan experience and brand recognition through the development and implementation of marketing, digital and partnership-based media plans.
Greenbaum's UC San Diego ties are through his wife, the former
Katie Mulloy '12, a former Triton women's tennis team captain and member of the
Triton Athletes' Council.
