Mike Miller joined UC San Diego in November 2024 in the role of Athletic Communications Assistant. He is responsible for the communications efforts of various UC San Diego intercollegiate sports.

Prior to joining the Tritons, Miller was the Sports Information Director at the University of Saint Katherine from August 2023 until the school's closure in May 2024. The NAIA program was located in nearby San Marcos. Miller led communications for all 10 of the department's sports. He also oversaw game management, facilities and a new internship program. His time with the Firebirds included working with three NAIA Championship teams. Miller accompanied the beach volleyball team to Greeneville, Tennessee, for the program's first trip to the NAIA Championship and managed various media opportunities at that event. He was also in charge of operations as the host of the 2023 Cal Pac Women's Volleyball Championship, handling all aspects of gameday, broadcast, hospitality and staffing for the six-team conference tournament. Miller's time at Saint Katherine ended with the successful nomination of the only Academic All-American in school history.

Miller graduated from BYU in 2023 with a bachelor's degree in communications, with an emphasis on journalism and sports media. He also minored in Asian studies. He spent one year as a student sports information director at BYU from 2022-23, working as the communications director for the men's tennis team. He also assisted with other sports, including football and basketball.

Miller earned a master's degree in sport and athletic administration from Gonzaga in 2025. As part of his degree, he completed a sports information internship with Gonzaga Athletics. Miller assisted with regular game notes for men's and women's basketball and baseball.
