Andrew Rodriguez joined the UC San Diego Athletics Department in October 2020 as the assistant director of broadcast production.
Rodriguez is very familiar with the Tritons after working as a replay operator for UC San Diego men’s and women’s basketball and men’s and women’s volleyball ESPN broadcasts during the 2019-20 academic year.
The Long Beach State graduate brings with him a wealth of knowledge about the Big West Conference serving as a camera operator for Big West Productions on ESPN3 for the last four years.
Starting in 2014, Rodriguez was part of Beach Vision at Long Beach State and in August of 2018, he was named the assistant director of Beach Vision which included working as the video producer for 19 NCAA Division I sports. Rodriguez was responsible for the video master calendar, monthly crew availability, sending out call sheets and scheduling. He recruited Long Beach State student workers and interns from film and broadcast majors and hired and trained the Beach Vision staff.
Further experience includes working with Game-On Entertainment, Shatterpoint Productions and Aquarium of the Pacific.
Rodriguez graduated from Long Beach State in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in arts in film and electronic arts with an emphasis in broadcast production.?
