All-Big West Honorable Mention...Big West Spring All-Academic Team…Big West Commissioner’s Honor Roll, With Honors…Started 40 games primarily at shortstop as the Tritons’ leadoff man…Finished second on the team with a .323 batting average and .450 on base percentage…Led the team in walks (28) and stolen bases (9), ranked third in hits (53) and runs scored (40) and finished fifth in RBI (30) and slugging percentage (.476)…Collected six doubles, two triples and five home runs…Second on the team with 15 multi-hit games and recorded nine multi-RBI performances…Longest reached base streak was 18 games and longest hitting streak was nine games…Hit two home runs vs CSUN (April 12), finishing with a season-high four RBI…Recorded a season-best four hits three times including back-to-back games going 4-for-6 vs CSUN (April 13; 2 RBI, 3 R, 1 BB) and at San Diego State (April 15; 2 RBI, 2 R, 1 2B, 1 HR)…Went 3-for-3 with three walks, an RBI and five runs scored at No. 8 UC Irvine (May 2).

(May 13)...Appeared in 40 games, making 28 starts splitting time between left field, second base and third base…Led the team with a .318 batting average…Collected 34 hits, 20 RBI and 20 runs scored…Knocked seven doubles and two home runs…Recorded a .439 slugging percentage and .395 on base percentage…Had 10 multi-hit games and seven multi-RBI performances…Went 2-for-2 with three RBI and a home run against Stephen F. Austin (Mar. 2)…Finished 3-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored against UC Riverside (Mar. 29) and 3-for-3 with a double and two runs scored at Arizona State (Apr. 30)…Recorded a season-best three hits in four different contests.

Graduated in 2023 from Heritage High School…Three-time first team all-league (sophomore, junior and senior seasons)…MVP of Bay Valley Athletic League as a junior…All-Bay Area honors team as a senior…Second team all-state as a junior…Team MVP as a junior and senior…RBI leader as a senior…Recorded a .464 batting average as a senior (.411 as a junior, .406 as a sophomore)…Also competed for Zoots Baseball Club his sophomore, junior and senior years.
PERSONAL
Born in Brentwood, Calif….Has two older sisters, Giovanna and Leara…His dad, Frank Potestio played baseball at UC Riverside and was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the fourth round; also played for the St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants…His uncle, Doug Potestio also played for the Chicago Cubs and Kansas City Royals… Studying public health at Roosevelt College…Hopes to fulfill his lifelong dream to play in the MLB, but also would like to pursue a career as a firefighter…Roots for the Cardinals, the Warriors and the Raiders…Favorite athletes are Bryce Harper and Stephen Curry.
