Tyler Pultro was named an assistant women’s tennis coach and an assistant performance coach at UC San Diego in October of 2020.
A familiar face with the Tritons, Pultro first joined the UC San Diego Athletics Department in August of 2019 as a volunteer assistant performance coach. He worked with the golf and tennis programs, while also assisting with basketball, softball and soccer.
In addition, he supported Triton Performance Analytics in data collection, on-field training sessions and implementation of return to sport protocols.
Prior to joining UC San Diego, Pultro worked with the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Team as a high performance trainee. He managed programs for Olympic athletes across seven different teams at the Center of Excellence.
Pultro has also worked as a head performance coach and interim manager at Summa Athletics in Doylestwon, Pa.
Pultro received his master’s degree in kinesiology from Point Loma Nazarene University and his bachelor’s degree in sports management from Drexel University. At Drexel, Pultro played tennis and was the captain of the club soccer team. He also received the United States Marine Corps Distinguished Athlete Award.
He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist, a USAW sports performance coach and both CPR and AED certified.
