AS A JUNIOR IN 2007: Started in 16 of UCSD’s 18 matches... her lone point on the year came off an assist during a 1-0 win on the road against Cal State L.A. on Oct. 12... recorded five shots, placing three on net... named to the All-CCAA Second Team.
AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2006: Started all 24 matches for the Tritons during second year on the La Jolla campus... helped anchor a defense that allowed only 12 goals on the year... earned Second Team All-CCAA honors as a defender... netted the game-winning goal in the 2-0 victory over Cal State San Bernardino on Sept. 8... added an assist in the 2-2 double overtime tie at Cal State Bakersfield on Sept. 22.
AS A FRESHMAN IN 2005: Started one of the 14 matches she appeared in during her rookie campaign on the UCSD campus... scored one goal and took two shots on the year... netted her first collegiate goal in the 5-0 victory at home over Cal State San Bernardino on Oct. 5... got her first collegiate start in the 1-0 victory at Cal Poly Pomona on Sept. 24.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2005 graduate of Preuss College Prep, located on the UC San Diego campus... also played volleyball, appearing on the Coastal South All Star Team.... played internationally for the Costa Rican U-19 team, scoring four international goals.
PERSONAL: Born Sept. 16, 1987... mother is Lydia Flores and father is Santiago Esquivel... has two younger siblings named Jose and Alessandro... is a Psychology major and Public Service minor in Marshall College... aspires to be a sports psychologist after her time at UCSD... enjoys reading and dancing in her spare time.
