High School: A 2006 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School in La Palma, Calif... competed at the varsity level and captained both the swimming and water polo teams...was named first-team all league for her water polo play.

Personal: Born July 21, 1988... parents are Diane and Tom Bates... a History and Archaeology major and Art History minor at Marshall College... enjoys history, reading, art and the outdoors in her free time... aspires to attend graduate school and work for National Geographic... favorite pro sports teams are the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and the San Diego Chargers.
