High School: A 2008 graduate of Fremont High School in Sunnyvale, Calif... lettered in swimming and was an individual CCS qualifier in the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke... a four-time scholar athlete... competed for De Anza Cupertino Aquatics for eight years.

Personal: Born Feb. 1, 1990... parents are Shin and Sue Umeda, both of whom attended San Jose State... has a younger sister named Claire... an Ecology, Behavior and Evolution major and Environmental Studies minor at Muir College... enjoys swimming, crocheting and baking in her free time... favorite athlete is Brendan Hansen.
