Former Triton rower Kimmie McCune was named an assistant coach with the UCSD women's rowing program in September of 2015.

McCune previously worked for the Huntington Harbour Yacht Club and the Huntington Beach Sailing Foundation as a sailing instructor. In 2014, McCune became program director at the Huntington Beach Sailing Foundation.

Before transferring to UCSD in 2012, McCune rowed for the men’s team at Orange Coast College and was named most valuable player for the 2012 season.

While at UCSD, she captained the team from 2014-15 and received the coach’s award in 2015. McCune was also named most valuable player in 2014.

McCune graduated from UCSD with a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degree in communications in 2015.
