A 2018 graduate of UC San Diego, Edward Dizon was named Director of Operations for the Tritons women's basketball program prior to the 2018-19 season. Dizon served as team manager for UC San Diego each of his four years as a student before being promoted. He currently handles the team's logistical and travel plans, as well as team operation duties for game days, practices and in the equipment room. Dizon is also often utilized as liaison between players and the coaching staff. He enters his third season as the Director of Operations in 2020-21.Â
In 2019-20, UC San Diego earned its second-consecutive California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Tournament crown for the first time ever in program history, as well as a share of the conference's regular-season title. The Tritons were set to compete in the NCAA West Regional before the season was ultimately cut short due to COVID-19.
In Dizon's first year as the Director of Operations, UC San Diego captured a program-best 30-0 start to the season en route to earning CCAA tournament and regular-season crowns. The Tritons compiled a record of 30-1, reaching the NCAA West Region Semifinals and finishing the year ranked No. 6 in the final WBCA Top 25 Coaches' Poll.
During his time as an undergrad, Dizon worked in the Sports Facilities Office, the equipment room and spent time as an athletics communications intern.Â
A native of Santa Ana, Dizon earned a degree in communication from Sixth College. He attended Godinez Fundamental High School in Santa Ana, where he was the women's basketball team manager all four years.
