and field team under head coach Mark Blether and pole vault coach Simon Arkell…
2008 and 2009 Field Athlete of the Year… Statistical best of 11’ in the pole
vault event.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2007 graduate of Santa Margarita Catholic
High School in Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif… Named Rookie of the Year in 2004…
Qualified for CIF during all four years of high school… Also member of the
Equestrian team and a former competitive gymnast.
PERSONAL: Born January 15, 1989… Parents are Thomas and
Jennifer Tears… Has an older sister named Emily and two younger siblings,
Jackson and Hanna… Sociology major and Dance minor in Warren College… Hopes to
attend law school and practice as an attorney… Roots for the Oakland Raiders,
Anaheim Ducks, and Ducks player Teemu Selanne.
