Biography
AS A JUNIOR IN 2010: Earned a fifth place finish in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:07.18 and a member of the fourth place finish 4x400 relay squad during the San Diego Collegiate Championships... Collected third in the long hurdles and finished in the top 20 in the 100 at the Mangrum Invitational.
AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2009: Time of 67.01 in 400 hurdles at the
CCAA Championships ranked eighth in the event… Finished sixth in the same event
at the All-Cal Championships, San Diego City Championships, and Mangrum
Invitational… Finished 15th in the 100 and third with the 4x400
relay team at the Mangrum Invitational.
AS A FRESHMAN IN 2008: Placed sixth in the 400M Hurdles at the CCAA Championship with a time of 1:06.94... At the UCSD Triton Invitational placed sixth in the 400M Hurdles with a time of 1:06.57... Placed eighth in the 400M Hurdles at the All-Cal Challenge Cup... At the Beach Invitational placed 18th in the 400M Hurdles with a time of 1:07.10... Placed fifth in the 400M Hurdles at the UCSD Divisional Challenge with a time of 1:06.50.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2007 graduate of Desert Mountain High School in Scottsdale, Ariz... participated in volleyball, cross country, and track and field... named team MVP in 2006 and 2007... received the Jerry Haley Award and was 2007 team captain of track and field squad... finished 4th in state in the 300 hurdles in 2006 and 2007... statistical bests of 46.00 in the 300 hurdles, 59 in the 400, and 16’2” in the long jump... member of Spanish Honor Society, National Honor Society, Mensa, and a Kindergarten volunteer.
PERSONAL: Born December 30, 1988... parents are Howard and Robin Asaki... both Howard and Robin attended the University of Maryland... has one older sibling named Sam... a Human Biology major in Muir College... enjoying painting, snowboarding, and baking cookies in her free time.
