AS A JUNIOR IN 2008: Placed 31st in the Shot Put with a distance of 11.14M, and 43rd in the Hammer Throw with a distance of 33.17M at the UCSD Triton Invitational... Placed ninth in the Shot Put at the San Diego City Championships with a distance of 10.12M... At the All-Cal Challenge Cup placed eighth in the Hammer Throw... Placed 15th in the Shot Put at the Rossi Relays with a distance of 10.27M.

PRIOR TO ATTENDING UCSD: Spent time at American River and Cosumnes River College... member of track team at American River College under head coach Jeanette Allerd... helped team to Big 7 Championship, State Championship, and two Nor-Cal Championships... recorded statistical bests of 125’8” in the discus, 136’6” in the hammer throw, and 40’3.5” in the shot put events... finished in 1st place in discus event at the Big 7 Championships... also placed in shot put, hammer, and discus events at Nor-Cal Championships and placed in both discus and shot put events during State Championships... played basketball while at Cosumnes River College... earned Scholar Athlete distinction.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2005 graduate of Tokay High School in Lodi, Calif... member of basketball and track and field team... finished 2nd in shot put in the SJAA in 2004 and 1st in 2005... 3rd place finish in SJAA discus event in 2005... recorded statistical bests of 37’7” in the shot put and 93’ in the discus events.

PERSONAL: Born September 9, 1987... parents are Gordon and Sharon Capps... has one younger sibling named Kelly... a History major in Warren College... hobbies include basketball, taking pictures, traveling, reading, and watching hockey.
