Biography

AS A FRESHMAN IN 2013
Started the season at the UCSD Triangular meet with best marks in all of his events … In the high jump he cleared a height of 5’8.75”, he leaped a distance of 21’0” in the long jump and in the javelin had a measure of 143’9".

HIGH SCHOOL
A 2012 graduate of A.N. McCallum High School in Austin, Texas ... District champion in both the pole vault and long jump as a senior (2012) ... Regional qualifier in the pole vault during his junior and senior years with the Knights (2011-12) ... Was a regional qualifier in the high jump, long jump, 110-meter hurdles and 300 hurdles as a senior (2012) ... Also qualified at the regional level in the 4x200 and 4x400 relays during his junior year (2011) ... Had personal-best performances in three events during the Marble Falls Regional Qualifiers Meet in the high jump (5'10", 5th), long jump (20'7.5", 6th) and pole vault (10'6", 9th) ... Reached career-best times in the 110 hurdles (16.51 seconds) and 300 hurdles (45.73) at the SAS Relays, where he finished first and fourth, respectively, during his senior year (2012) ... Finished 11th in the 200 at the Bastrop Bears Relays, where he clocked in at a personal-best time of 24.2 as a junior (2011) ... Played both football and baseball in addition to track at ANMHS ... Won the "Fighting Knight Award" for football as a senior ... Additionally, competed for the Flight International Track Youth Club in Austin, Texas.

PERSONAL
Born on June 26, 1993 in Munich, Germany ... Son of Jeff and Mari Hawn, who both graduated from SMU ... Has an older sibling named Jeff and two younger siblings named Cami and Laney ... Father was an offensive lineman at SMU ... A sociology-science and medicine major at Roosevelt College ... Hopes to go to officer canidate school for the marine core and become a commissioned officer after graduating from UCSD ... Jumping a big personal record at an early season tri-meet is his most memorable track and field moment ... The vault-a-thon is his favorite UCSD moment ... Surfing, fishing and camping are among his hobbies ... Cheers for the Houston Texans ... JJ Watt is his favorite athlete ... Favorite movie is The Patriot... Has "Song of the South" by Alabama on his playlist ... Loves boiled crawfish ... Counts his family as his greatest influences.
