Former two-sport Triton student-athlete Lauren Irish is in her third season on the staff of the University of California San Diego track and field program in 2018. She serves as the director of operations.

In her first year back at UC San Diego, Irish assisted both the men's and women's track and field teams to runner-up performances at the CCAA Championships. She also helped six student-athletes earn berths to the 2016 NCAA Division II Championships.

Irish competed in track and field for four years from 2011-14, and was a 2012 All-American in the 4x100 relay with a seventh-place finish at the NCAA Championships in Pueblo, Colo. She was a Triton captain in 2014, before spending the 2015 season as a member of the UCSD softball team.

A native of Berkeley, Irish earned her UC San Diego bachelor's degree in mathematics, with a minor in cognitive science, in June of 2015.
