Brittney Barclay was named the Director of Travel and Sports Camps for UC San Diego in December 2009. She coordinates the travel for all 23 of UCSD's intercollegiate athletic programs, while also overseeing the department's sport camps.
Barclay assumed her current position after working in the UCSD Athletics Department for a year as a Sport Administration Intern and then as an Assistant for Internal Operations and Strategic Planning. As an intern, she worked mainly with the marketing department and her duties consisted of advertising, donation solicitation, assisting at special events, and helping with maintenance of the department's website.
As an assistant for internal operations, she coordinated the development of the athletic department's five-year strategic plan, sent out information to visiting teams, and helped plan and run new student-athlete orientation sessions. She also oversaw the inventory of the department's equipment and uniforms and helped facilitate a substantial donation to The Preuss School in November.
Prior to joining the Triton Family, Barclay was a Sport Administration Program Graduate Assistant at Central Michigan University for over a year, while working towards a Masters in Sport Administration. She also served as an instructor at the University of Central Florida Research Wellness Center from 2006-07.
Barclay graduated from UCF in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in coaching. She resides in San Marcos with her husband Robert, a Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps.
