AS A JUNIOR IN 2007: Finished 7th in the 3000 during the All-Cal Championships with a season-best time of 10:32.24... recorded a time of 37:19.28 in the 10000 at the UCLA Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersey Invitational... time of 18:09.30 in the 5000 at the CCAA Championships resulted in 5th place finish... finished 4th in the 10000 with a season-best time of 37:03.50, also at the CCAA Championships.
AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2006: Recorded best times of 18:46.24 in the 5000m run and 10:28.80 in the 3000m run for the Tritons... vital member of the UCSD women’s cross country team....helped team to a third place CCAA Championship finish, placing 16th at 24:01.70 ....finished 20th at the NCAA Division II West Regional, helping the team to a third place finish with a time of 22:01.13... finished 62nd at the NCAA Championships, helping the team to a 16th place finish with a time of 22:01.40.
AS A FRESHMAN IN 2005: Ran in five of the cross country team’s eight races during rookie season... finished third overall and had the second fastest UCSD time in the season-opening dual meet with Point Loma, running the course on the La Jolla campus in a time of 16:01.4... finished 27th out of 135 runners at the UC Irvine Invitational as her time of 19:52.1 helped the Tritons to a team victory over 13 other teams, including six Division I schools... finished 28th out of 147 competitors with her time of 24:11 at the Stegemoller Classic hosted by the University of Southern Indiana... crossed the finish line in a time of 18:49.31, which was good enough for 45th place out of 271 entrants at the Willamette Invite... helped team to a second place finish at the CCAA Championships with her 24th place finish in a time of 21:40.50.
HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Ponderosa High School... ran cross country and track for coaches Jennifer Devine Pfeifer, Barbara Richardson, Don Aguiar and Ron Ruptier... member of the four time SVC League Champions in track... was named to the Sacramento Bee All-City Second Team as a sophomore, junior, and senior... was named the cross country and track MVP for three straight seasons... set personal bests of 19:15 in the 5k, 19:05 in the three mile.
PERSONAL: Born July 19, 1986 in Carmichael, Calif... parents are Wendelin and Kim Ann Burkhardt... has one younger sister named Shana Marie... is an undeclared major in Eleanor Roosevelt College... enjoys the piano, reading, and tutoring children in her spare time.
