Bridget McKay

Bridget McKay begins her second season as an assistant coach with the UC San Diego softball program in 2009. McKay has been as assistant coach at the collegiate level since 2001 and assists in all areas of coaching with the Tritons, including scheduling and recruiting.

McKay came to La Jolla after spending the 2006-2007 season as an assistant softball coach, physical education instructor, and member of the game management staff at Olympic College in Bremerton, Washington. Prior to her stint at Olympic College, she was an assistant coach at the Division I level with Charleston Southern University from 2003 to 2006 and with Norfolk State from 2002 to 2003. She began her collegiate coaching career at Spokane Falls Community College from 2001 to 2002.

As player, McKay played for the University of Washington from 1992-95. She helped lead the Huskies to a No. 10 national ranking and two NCAA Tournament appearances, including a trip to the regional final in 1995. She was a co-captain of the squad in her final season.

McKay graduated from UW in 1995 with a degree in Botany and worked in the private sector until 2001, when she took a job at Spokane Community College as an assistant softball coach and physical education instructor. McKay also owns a Masters of Business Administration from Seattle University, which she earned in June of 2000.
