As a Junior in 2009: Played in 18 of UCSD’s matches and earned the starting nod on 11 occasions... tallied one goal during the season, when he knocked in the game-winning score on Oct. 11 against Cal State East Bay with a header from the left side of the box... registered seven shots on the season, landing five on frame for the highest shot on goal percentage on the Tritons’ squad... ended the school year on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll at the Bronze Level (includes GPAs from 3.00-3.299).

As a Sophomore in 2008: Earned minutes off the bench in all of UCSD’s 18 matches... embodied the definition of a “super sub,” tying for second on the team in points with 10... scored four goals and tallied two assists... two of his four goals were game-winning scores, including the opening goal of a 2-0 home victory against Hawaii Hilo to start the season and a rebound shot in a 2-1 road win over Cal State Monterey Bay on Sept. 14... concluded the school year on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll at the Bronze Level.

As a Freshman in 2007: Played in all of UCSD’s 17 matches, while starting in eight of those contests... recorded one shot during his freshman campaign while playing as a defender.

High School: A 2007 graduate of Los Osos High School in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif… helped soccer team to an 18-3-2 record, earning Baseline League Championship honors during his senior season… team was ranked No. 10 in the CIF Southern Section in 2006-07… a three time All-Baseline League honoree, earning First Team honors as a senior… a member of the National Honor Society.

Personal: Born Feb. 2, 1989… parents are Jim McDowell and Carla Haupt… has an older sister named Amber… twin brother, Ryan, also plays soccer for UCSD… is a Political Science Major in Sixth College... enjoys lifting weights and hanging out at the beach in his spare time.
