Former Triton rower Sean Dougherty was named an assistant coach with the men's program in September of 2015.

Prior to joining the rowing staff, Dougherty worked as a student hospitality associate at UCSD.

Dougherty captained the UCSD men’s rowing team from 2013-15. In 2013, he was named First Team All-Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association and was tabbed UCSD Oarsman of the Year.

A history major, Dougherty earned a bachelor's degree from UCSD in June of 2015.
