Lewis Simon was named an assistant coach with the UC San Diego golf team in September of 2015.
A former captain of the UCSD golf team, Simon played in 59 events over the course of his career.
In his first three years on the team, Simon’s stroke average never ranked lower than third on the roster. As a freshman, he shot six rounds under par with a stroke average of 75.9.
Simon was named team captain during his sophomore year and placed among UCSD’s top-three finishers in the last 12 events of the season.
During his junior year, Simon had two top-ten finishes and posted a season-best low round of 70 at the NCAA South Central/West Regional.
As a senior in 2013-14, Simon played a total of 26 rounds with a stroke average of 75.5. He shot 3-over par at the CCAA Championship and finished eighth, earning him All-CCAA honors.
Simon has been an assistant director of the San Diego Nike Golf Camp since 2011.
He graduated from UCSD in 2015 with double major in cognitive science and psychology at Marshall College.
