Former Triton golfer Joel Wermter was named an assistant coach with the program prior to the 2018-19 season.

A three-year letterwinner, Wermter was a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) All-Academic and CCAA Spring All-Academic selection in each of his three years on the team.

Wermter, a biology major at UC San Diego's Revelle College, graduated in 2018.

Wermter is from Camarillo, Calif. He is a 2013 graduate of Rio Mesa High School in Oxnard.
