Biography

AS A JUNIOR IN 2004: Ran in five of the team’s seven races... was a team co-captain in only his third year on the La Jolla campus... named the team’s Most Valuable Male Racer... had a third place showing at the season-opening dual meet with Point Loma, finishing in a time of 22:13.1... finished 16th out of 124 entrants at the UC Irvine Invitational with his 26:22.1 time in the 8k race... finished 29th at the Stegemoller Classic, finishing the race in a time of 26:17... placed third at the UCSD Triton Invitational, helping the team to a second place finish with his 26:36.50 time in the 8k event... crossed the finish line in a time of 23:19.90, good enough for 12th place and an All-CCAA selection in helping the Tritons to a third place team finish at the CCAA Championships... finished 26th at the NCAA Division II West Regional with his time of 34:24, helping the team to a fourth place regional finish... qualified for the NCAA Division II Track and Field National Championships in the 3000 meter steeplechase, finishing 15th out of 18 at the event... was an All-CCAA performer in Track and Field in the 1500 meters and set a new school record in the 3000m steeplechase with his time of 9:09.45.

AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2003: Chosen by his teammates as the Most Improved Runner for 2003... a 1500m specialist in track who adjusted well to the increased distance of cross country... was named the Triton Racer of the Week following his performance at the UCSD Triton Invitational, posting a time of 26:44.5... had a season’s best time of 25:46 in the 8k CCAA Championships... was the team’s fifth place finisher at the NCAA National Championships with a time of 34:17.80 in the 10k race... posted a season’s best time of 25:06.63 at the Willamette Invitational, good enough for the fifth fastest UCSD time ever at the course in Salem, Ore... finished third on the team at both the CCAA and NCAA West Regional Championships... specializes in the 3000m steeplechase for the Triton Track squad with a personal record of 9:25.54... also holds a personal record of 3:57.73 in the 1500m.

AS A FRESHMAN IN 2002: Was the top finisher for the Tritons at the Roy Griak Invitational, finishing 43rd overall in a time of 26:26.6... finished 53rd at the Fresno State Invitational with a time of 28:10... finished 16th at the CCAA Championships with a time of 25:58.50... finished 40th at the NCAA Division II West Regionals with a time of 34:45, the fifth fastest time for a UCSD runner at the event.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2002 graduate of Carmel High School in Carmel, Calif... ran cross country and track for coach John Ables... also lettered in soccer... went undefeated in league action during entire high school career, winning MTAL championships all four years... led team to a Central Coast Section championship as a senior, eventually placing third in the state... was an All-MTAL selection in all four years... was the league champion and CCS champion as a senior... finished 29th at the state championships in 2001... set the course record on home course at Carmel HS with a time of 16:54 on the 5k course... had personal bests in track of 2:00.03 in the 800m, 4:28 in the 1600m and 9:34 in the 3200m... earned Eagle Scout honors in the Boy Scouts... was the class valedictorian and county scholar.

PERSONAL: Born December 24, 1983 in Carmel, Calif... parents are Ernie and Valerie Lostrom... has one younger sister named Larissa... is a Mechanical Engineering major in Warren College... enjoys playing soccer, reading and photography in his spare time.
