AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2009: Ran in four events in his second season as a Triton… Was UCSD’s fifth-fastest finisher at the Triton Classic, completing the race in 34:37.9… Finished 40th overall at the CCAA Championships with a time of 27:34.5.

AS A FRESHMAN IN 2008: Appeared in both of UCSD’s home events last season… Finished 21st overall against Point Loma and USD to open the season, registering a time of 23:55.4… His time of 36:19.7 at the Triton Classic was good enough for 57th place.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2008 graduate of Stevenson High School in Pebble Beach, Calif., where he was a three-time all-league selection… Also named All-CCS Section from 2005-2007… Placed first in 2007 and second in 2008 in the Open Relay Division of the Big Sur International Marathon Relay… Also competed in lacrosse in high school, guiding Stevenson to a 22-3 record as a senior.

PERSONAL: Born May 8,1990… Parents are Pierre and Eileen LaMothe… Is the younger brother of former Triton harrier Gabe LaMothe, who he lists as his favorite athlete… Pulls for the San Francisco Giants… Spends his spare time surfing or playing lacrosse… Took first place in the Sunshine Freestyle Surf Contest for the 15-17 age group in 2007… Qualifying for the state championships in high school is his favorite sporting moment… Is a Human Biology major in Muir College… Wants to become a surgeon in the future.
