AS A REDSHIRT JUNIOR IN 2005: Redshirted the season after playing in the first 10 games of the season... hit .359 with 14 hits in 39 at-bats.

AS A JUNIOR IN 2005: Earned NCAA ABCA/Rawlings All West Region Team honors... also collected All-CCAA honors in his first season at UCSD... hit .335 with a school-record nine triples... led the team with 21 stolen bases and added 19 doubles and three homeruns... posted 12 assists while splitting starts in center and right field.

AT UC RIVERSIDE: Before coming to the UCSD campus, Lawson played two seasons at UC Riverside... the 2003 team earned a Regional berth against Stanford University... hit .265 as a sophomore and .260 as a freshman with the Highlanders.

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Esperanza HS in Anaheim, Calif.... member of the baseball team that won the 2001 Sunset League Championship and advanced to the CIF quarterfinals for two seasons... earned the teams’ Coaches Award in 2001 and 2002... a 2002 Gold Glove selection... other honors included the Military Student-Athlete award and the Honor Roll for four years.

PERSONAL: Born October 15, 1984 in Fullerton, Calif.... the son of Roger and Velia Lawson... has two brothers, Chris and Jason... a Management Science major in Muir College... career goal is to be an Optometrist... also enjoys going to the beach, ping-pong and bowling.
