AS A JUNIOR IN 2005:
Southpaw had several outstanding performances in 2005... complete-game three-hitter against Cal Poly Pomona on April. 16... went six-innings in back-to-back starts yeilding no earned runs... was the winning pitcher in UCSD’s CCAA Championship clincher in relief... in the clincher, he went 4.1 innings and allowed three baserunners, while pitching on one day’s rest... he pitched seven-innings, giving up three earned runs just 48 hours earlier in the tournament.
AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2004: Earned All-CCAA Third Team honors... 6-2 with a 3.89 ERA in his second season on the Tritons... led the team with 88.0 innings pitched and 62 strikeouts... tied for the team lead with four complete games... held opponents to a .253 batting average.
AS A FRESHMAN IN 2003: Pitched 75.2 innings and picked up three victories while leading the team in strikeouts with 54.
HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Mt. Carmel HS in San Diego, Calif. where he was a member of the baseball team coached by Steve Edwards... honors included first-team all-league and a San Diego Union Tribune Scholar-Athlete... also a member of CSF.
PERSONAL: Born August, 27, 1984 in San Diego, Calif.... he is the son of Jose and Carmen Navarro... has three siblings, Gladys, Ariel and Manuel... a Mechanical Engineering major in Muir College... lists other interests as computers, electronics, reading and video games.
