AS A JUNIOR IN 2005: Enjoyed his finest season at UCSD hitting .324 with 44 hits and a .441 slugging percentage... hit .472 with runners in scoring position and went 2-for-2 in pinch-hit appearances.

AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2004: Appeared in 20 games for the Tritons after transferring from Irvine Valley College where he was a member of the 2002 baseball team... notched a .382 on-base percentage in his first season with the Tritons.

AT IRVINE VALLEY COLLEGE: The outfielder was a member of the Irvine Valley College baseball team coached by Kent Madole.

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Mater Dei HS in Santa Ana, Calif. where he was a member of the baseball and football team coached by Bob Ickes and Burt Call... earned the baseball teams’ Coaches Award in 1999 and 2000, and notched the Hustle Award in 2000.

PERSONAL: Born October 28, 1982 in Orange, Calif.... parents are Dave Gomez Sr. and Mary Gomez... has two siblings, Irene and Derek... Economics major in Muir College... hobbies include bodyboarding and working out.
