Hipolito served as the hitting instructor for UCSD in 2004, helping the Tritons reach the California Collegiate Athletic Association conference tournament for the first time in school history and set the table for the team to win its first ever CCAA Championship the following year. The 2004 squad accumulated a total of 634 hits -- which was over 100 more than each of the previous three seasons -- and was ranked as high as No. 10 nationally en route to winning a school-record 35 games.

In five seasons at Southwestern College, Hipolito was instrumental in leading the team to four play-off appearances, including two trips to the Super-Regionals (2005, 2008) and an appearance in the State Championship game in 2008. Southwestern College won back-to-back Pacific Coast Conference championships in 2007 and 2008 and the 2008 team produced one All-American, Adrian Bringas, and two All-Southern California players, Daniel Stenavich and Nathaniel Dennis. Southwestern College finished the season with a program-best 40-14 overall record in 2008 and ranked No. 12 in the nation according to PGCrosschecker.com.

Hipolito began his coaching career at St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower, Calif. He coached baseball and basketball, while teaching Biology. He has a B.A. in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sports Medicine from Long Beach State University and a Master of Arts in Education from Azusa Pacific University.
