• UC San Diego’s season opener against GCU was broadcast nationally on the MLB Network—the first nationally televised game for the Tritons
• UC San Diego extended a 12-game winning streak early in the season—the longest of the Division I era and longest since 2018
• During the streak, the Tritons swept three-game series with Northern Colorado and Big West opponents Long Beach State and CSU Bakersfield
• The Tritons won 12 of their final 14 games, including sweeps of Cal Poly, then-Big West leader Cal State Fullerton and UC Riverside
• Their 34 wins is the most in the program’s Division I era (three seasons)

MEN'S BASKETBALL Roster • Schedule
Head Coach: Eric Olen (10th season) • Record: 10-20 (5-13 Big West)
• UC San Diego improved to 2-0 against Pac-12 opponents during the transition after a 64-62 win over California in November
• Junior Bryce Pope was Second Team All-Big West 
• Pope became the 14th Triton (and first in Division I) to surpass 1,000 career points scored.
• Sophomore Francis Nwaokorie and freshman Roddie Anderson were named Honorable Mention All-Big West
• Head coach Eric Olen became the all-time wins leader in program history, now with 190 career coaching victories over 10 seasons at UC San Diego.
• The Tritons were 4-5 on the road against conference opponents, including a 99-91 win at first place UC Irvine in February



WOMEN'S BASKETBALL Roster • Schedule
Head Coach: Heidi VanDerveer (11th season) • Record: 13-17 (10-10 Big West)
• Grad student Sydney Brown was named to the Second Team All-Big West for the third consecutive season
• Sophomore Izzy Forsyth received All-Big West Honorable Mention
• Junae Mahan was named the Big West All-Freshman Team
• Madison Baxter, Sydney Brown and Izzy Forsyth were named to the CSC Academic All-District Team
• Redshirt senior Julia Macabuhay recorded her 1,000th career point and 300th career assist, becoming the third Triton in program history to reach both milestones
• She finished ranked fourth all-time in assists and 10th in scoring
• Grad student Sydney Brown recorded her 1,000th career point and 700th career rebound, becoming the fourth Triton in program history to reach both milestones
• She finished ranked fifth all-time in rebounding and eighth in scoring
• The Tritons finished 13-17 overall and 10-10 in the Big West (sixth)—their second consecutive season with a .500 or better record in conference play


CROSS COUNTRY Roster • Schedule
Head Coach: Nate Garcia (16th season)
• Competed in the program’s second Division I season after the 2020 campaign was canceled
• The men finished 10 of 27 at Santa Clara’s Bronco Invite and the women were 12 of 28 in the same meet
• The women finished first in the Open 5k at the UCR Invitational in Riverside
• 22 Tritons were named to The Big West Fall All-Academic Team for their success in the classroom and on the trail


FENCING

• Finished 16th at the NCAA National Championships
• Vedran Markota and Renee Zuhars both won the NCAA West Regional Championships in Epee
• 12 Tritons earned UFSCA All-West Region honors including first, second, and honorable mention recognitions
• 9 Tritons earned MPSF All-Conference recognition for first and second teams
• 5 Tritons earned CSC Academic All-District


GOLF Roster • Schedule
Head Coach: Fred Hanover (5th season)
• Sophomore Davis McDowell won the first tournament of his career as well as UC San Diego’s first NCAA Division I individual medal when
he topped the 59-player field at the Orange County Collegiate Classic at Coto de Caza in February
• The Tritons hosted their third annual UC San Diego Invitational at the renowned Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla. It was the first time that the event was run at Torrey Pines
as it had been contested at La Costa in Carlsbad in 2021 and 2022. The 15-team tournament featured teams from California, Florida, Hawai‘i, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Utah, and Washington.
• UC San Diego’s best finish of the season as of press time was third of 10 teams at the Orange County Collegiate Classic at Coto de Caza. Sophomore Davis McDowell
won the tournament while senior Elliot Bunyaviroch tied for 11th. Freshman Nathan Tseng also finished among the top-25



MEN'S ROWING Roster • Schedule
Head Coach: Jeff Collett (1st season)
• Took gold in five events at WIRA on April 30
• Finished first in all three races (V8, Second V8, Third V8) at Western Sprints on May 13
• Varsity 8 both took first place at the San Diego Crew Classic – the first Cal Cup win since 2009
• In Western Sprints awards, Stuart Boynton, Kevork Tchakmakjian, and Thomas Wilson were named First Team, Bailey Kim captured Second Team honors,
and Sebastian Navarro was named to the All-Freshman team.
• Head Coach Jeff Collett was named Coach of the Year in the Western Sprints awards

WOMEN'S ROWING Roster • Schedule

• Coxswain Nicole Djordjevic was named to the All-CAA Team
• The varsity 4+ earned bronze at the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championships
• Varsity 4+ and second varsity 8+ placed second and novice eight placed third in the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association (WIRA) Championships
• The Tritons placed third in the open 8+, second in the novice 8+ and second in the open 4+ and the San Diego Fall Classic
• UC San Diego finished in fourth in the collegiate varsity 8+ at San Diego Crew Classic in the spring

• Competed in the program’s second Division I season after the 2020 campaign was canceled
• Senior back Katelyn Meyer was named All-Big West Second Team and junior forward Kennedy Carter was selected as Honorable Mention All-Big West
• Three UC San Diego scholar-athletes were named Academic All-District selections by College Sports Communicators: Mika Celeste, Kate Hottinger, and Ashlynn Kolarik
• Team earned a draw and a win in its final two road matches 
• Ten Tritons were named to The Big West Fall All-Academic Team for their success in the classroom and on the pitch

• Jada Cecil was named to The Big West pre-season team
• Morgan Eng led the NCAA DI all season with a game-high of six stolen bases
• 4th All-Time for a single season
• Jada Cecil earns another spot on the single-season all-time list with 171 strikeouts (9th)
• 2 named to All-Big West postseason teams

• At the National Invitational Championships – Andrija Petkovic broke a 14-year-old program record and Juli Arzave set a NIC meet record
• 10 UC San Diego program records were set in the postseason

MEN'S TENNIS Roster • Schedule
Head Coach: Timmer Willing (11th season) • Record: 8-19 (0-6 Big West)
• Tritons made first Division I postseason appearance, participating in first-ever NIT Championships in May – UC San Diego topped The Citadel
• UC San Diego got its championship season underway with a 4-0 victory against Nevada in La Jolla
• The Tritons won back-to-back home matches over Sacramento State and Loyola Marymount in late January
• The team also posted home victories against Villanova and Navy
• Charles Qian and Joseph Teh both earned singles victories against opponents from seventh-ranked Harvard
• Qian was tabbed the Big West Player of the Week on March 22
• UC San Diego went 2-1 during a spring trip to Hawai‘i, defeating Hawai‘i Pacific and Portland State while falling against Hawai‘i


WOMEN'S TENNIS Roster • Schedule
Head Coach: Liz LaPlante (44th season) • Record: 10-16 (2-7 Big West)
• Tritons made first Division I postseason appearance, participating in first-ever NIT Championships in May
• Katelyn Vu set a UC San Diego Division I record with 12 singles victories
• Already the most successful coach in program history, head coach Liz LaPlante won her 600th career match as a Triton
• Team won more matches this season than its first two Division I seasons combined

TRACK & FIELD Roster • Schedule
Head Coach: Kim Graham-Miller (1st season)
• Newly appointed head coach Kim Graham-Miller earned her first Triton first place finishes at the Long Beach Opener when Jack Wiseman, Kyle Gibbs,
and Kate MacNaughton finished first in their events (high jump, pole vault, and high jump)
• 12 top 10 performances were posted by the women
• 15 top 10 performances were posted by the men
• 2 were UC San Diego program marks – Kyle Gibbs in pole vault and Marcos Milla broke a 23-year-old record in the 10,000 meters
• 10 Tritons earned CSC Academic All-District recognition (5 men and 5 women)



MEN'S VOLLEYBALL Roster • Schedule
Head Coach: Brad Rostratter (1st season) • Record: 8-17 (2-8 Big West)
• First-year head coach Brad Rostratter earned his first career win with the Tritons against Lincoln Memorial in the team’s season-opening match
• Rostratter snagged his first Big West victory when the Tritons upset 12th-ranked CSUN in straight sets on the road
• Setter Gabe Dyer was named to the UC Santa Barbara Asics Invitational All-Tournament Team in January
• Libero Evan Boyle was named the Big West Defensive Player of the Week on March 6 and the Big West Freshman of the Week on Jan. 9  
• Outside hitter Josh Schellinger was named the Big West Freshman of the Week three times


WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL Roster • Schedule
Head Coach: Ricci Luyties (13th season) • Record: 14-18 (7-13 Big West)
• Sophomore Ava McInnes was named to the All-Big West Second Team
• She finished the regular season atop the Big West standings in kills per set, total kills and total points and finished third in points per set
• Her 469 total kills ranks second all-time for UC San Diego in single season records and first in the Division I era
• Naya Dong and Emily McDaniel were named to the CSC Academic All-District Team
• Seven Tritons were named to the Big West Fall All-Academic Team
• The Tritons began the season 5-1, including the program’s first victory over Cal, for their best start to a season since 2017
• UC San Diego set a record for average attendance (580), and set records for the top two single game attendance totals (1,953; Sept. 23, 2022 & 1,887; Oct. 21, 2022

• UC San Diego was ranked as high as No. 10 in the country

• UC San Diego advanced to the Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) Championships title game, where it fell in overtime to No. 5 UC Davis
• Vedran Latkovic was tabbed All-America Honorable Mention by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC)
