Below is information on the academic success of our scholar-athletes as well as resources available to support and encourage their continued academic excellence:

Advising
Advising for scholar-athletes at UC San Diego is a 3-part system:

Undergraduate students work with department academic advisors who are specialists in the major and minor requirements. They encourage and support you with information about strategies for utilizing resources and available services, such as academic enrichment; career, graduate, and professional school-planning; international education; and student research opportunities.

Department advisors work in close partnership with college academic advisors in guiding you to successful degree completion.

To see your major advisor, it is best to contact them through the Virtual Advising Center (VAC) with your question, or schedule an appointment.
Academic Department and Program Undergraduate Advisor List

Undergraduate students work with college academic advisors who are specialists in the general education requirements of their respective colleges.  Often your first point of contact, you'll meet with your college academic advisor to develop and discuss your overall academic objectives and all related requirements. College academic advisors serve as your primary resource from which appropriate referrals are made and followed, and are integral partners in your final degree certification.

Within each college, a specific academic advisor is designated as the Athletics Department Liaison. These individuals (listed below) are aware that scholar-athletes are required to meet NCAA Division I eligibility rules and work closely with the Athletics Department staff to advise scholar-athletes.  While it is not required you speak with the specific Athletics Advising Liaison, it is helpful for advising purposes if your question potentially involves NCAA issues (ie. conflicts with practice/competition, NCAA eligibility questions).

To see your college advisor, it is best to contact them through the Virtual Advising Center (VAC) with your question, or schedule an appointment.
