Membership in Triton Tide is FREE and open to all current UC San Diego students. TRITON TIDE LEADERSHIP
The Triton Tide Council is comprised of student representation from on-campus organizations and the Triton student body as a whole. Any current UC San Diego student is eligible to hold a leadership role within Triton Tide and help create the fun and exciting atmosphere at Triton home games and events across campus.
Triton Tide Council Duties:
- Create the best possible game day environment for all Tritons
- Work in conjunction with UC San Diego Athletics, Associated Students, and other potential student organizations to plan and coordinate pre-game activities before key home games
- Direct cheers, chants, and other in-game fun
- Identify "Yell Leaders" to lead chants, cheers, and crowd participation at Triton home events
- Work to identify other events where Triton Tide can have a presence and create a fun and exciting atmosphere
Triton Tide Council Benefits:
- Priority seating in the FRONT of the Triton Tide section behind the north basket at all home basketball (north bleachers for ALL LionTree Arena events)
- Identified seating at key events at Canyonview Aquatics Center, Triton Ballpark, and other venues throughout the year
- Ability to work collaboratively with Athletics leadership to help create exciting student-driven game day fun

SPIRIT NIGHT
For over 25 years, Spirit Night and the Cup of Cheer has been a tradition at UC San Diego. As we enter a new era of Triton spirit and athletics, SPIRIT NIGHT and The Cup of Cheer is set to create and foster a friendly competition among the seven UC San Diego colleges and celebrate what it means to be a Triton.
Spirit Night - January 23, 2025
Tritons Men's Basketball hosts UC Santa Barbara
Triton Tide Fan Fest (featuring a DJ, games, and more!) - 6 p.m. on the University Credit Union Triton Terrace at LionTree Arena
- Free t-shirts for the first 1,500 students at Fan Fest
- Free pizza for the first 1,000 students in their seats
Game Time - 7 p.m.
Cup of Cheer
- The annual college competition returns with events throughout the week, culminating with Spirit Night as all eight colleges compete to win the Cup of Cheer!
