AS A FRESHMAN IN 2007-08: Served as novice captain for UCSD crew during freshman season.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Irvington High School in Fremont, Calif... played water polo while in high school and served as junior varsity captain.

PERSONAL: Born September 22, 1989... parents are Prakash and Latha Rao... has two siblings named Sindhur and Ishan... a Biochemistry major in Thurgood Marshall College... hopes to work in medicine or teach abroad... enjoys coaching and studying martial arts and playing piano and guitar.
