Biography

AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2006: Started 15 of the 16 matches he played in... posted a 1.03 goals-against average in the 1,400 minutes he played between the pipes... made 54 saves while allowing only 16 goals on the year... notched four shutouts, three of which were 1-0 victories... the fourth shutout came in the 0-0, double overtime tie at home against Humboldt State... had a .771 save percentage on the season... recorded a career-high six saves in the 1-1, double overtime tie with Cal Poly Pomona on September 10.

AS A FRESHMAN IN 2005: Appeared in five matches between the pipes for the Tritons, all of which were in relief... made one save and allowed one goal in his 52:50 minutes of play... made first collegiate save to preserve the shutout in the Tritons’ 4-0 victory over Humboldt State at home on August 26... played his longest stint of 21:04 minutes in the 4-1 victory at home over Cal State Bakersfield on September 17.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2004 graduate of Downey High School... lettered in soccer while at DHS... is currently a redshirt freshman at UCSD after not playing his first year on a college campus.

PERSONAL: Born September 28, 1986... father is Gustavo, mother is Liliana... has a brother named Jairo Salazar who is currently a soccer player at Cal State L.A... is an International Studies - Political Science major in Warren College.
