Biography

AS A JUNIOR IN 2004: Ran in five of the team’s seven events... placed first in the first event of the year, winning the UCSD dual meet with Point Loma in a time of 22:05.9, just two-tenths of a second ahead of teammate Mitch Steves... finished 20th at the UC Irvine Invitational with his time of 26:33.7... posted a time of 26:42 at the Stegemoller Classic, finishing him in 52nd place out of the 166 competitors... had an 11th place finish at the UCSD Triton Invitational, posting a time of 27:29.4 and helping UCSD to a second place team finish... finished 19th out of 46 runners at the CCAA Championships, crossing the finish line in a time of 24:00.9.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2001 graduate of San Leandro High School... ran cross country and track for coaches Brian Kennedy and Scott Kennedy... was a member of the 1999 league championship cross country squad... earned all-league honors during all four years of high school in both cross country and track... had personal bests of 4:25 in the 1600m, 9:48 in the 3200m and 16:29 in the state 5k race.

PERSONAL: Born July 17, 1983 in San Leandro, Calif... parents are Mark Sigmon and Joy Sigmon... father went to UC Berkeley while mother went to UCLA... has one younger brother named Nick... is a Structural Engineering major at Eleanor Roosevelt College... enjoys whiffle ball, basketball and video games in his spare time.
