AS A JUNIOR IN 2006: Competed in six of eight events for the Tritons during the season... finished third among Tritons and 26th overall at the UC Irvine Invitational with a time of 19:12.9... finished the Roy Griak Invitational with a time of 24:00.9, placing 32nd in the race... was 12th overall at the Triton Classic with a time of 23:24.9...finished 16th at the CCAA Championships, with her time of 24:01.7 falling just outside All-CCAA recognition... time of 22:10.13 at the NCAA DII West Regionals led to a 20th place finish... completed the season in 62nd with a time of 22:01.4 at the NCAA Championships in Pensacola, Florida... named cross country team’s Most Improved Runner.

AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2005: Raced in all seven races for the Tritons as a sophomore... had a third place finish in the season opening four-way meet at UCSD on August 27, finishing the 2.5 mile race in 15:43.5... finished 29th at the UC Irvine Invitational, crossing the finish line in a time of 19:21.7... posted a time of 22:50.6 at the Paul Short Invitational, finishing 152nd out of 309 runners... finished 16th at the UCSD Triton Cross Country Invitational with her time of 23:19.0, helping the team to a first place finish... helped team to the CCAA Championship with her 22nd place finish, crossing the line in a time of 23:05... finished 69th at the NCAA Division II West Regional, helping the team to a second place finish with a time of 24:53.20... started the NCAA D-II National Championship race but was unable to finish the course.

AS A FRESHMAN IN 2004: Ran in five of the team’s eight races during rookie season... finished third overall and had the second fastest UCSD time in the season-opening dual meet with Point Loma, running the course on the La Jolla campus in a time of 16:01.4... finished 27th out of 135 runners at the UC Irvine Invitational as her time of 19:52.1 helped the Tritons to a team victory over 13 other teams that included six Division I schools... finished 28th out of 147 competitors with her time of 24:11 at the Stegemoller Classic hosted by the University of Southern Indiana... crossed the finish line in a time of 18:49.31 which was good enough for 45th place out of 271 entrants at the Willamette Invite... helped team to a second place finish at the CCAA Championships with her 24th place finish in a time of 21:40.50.

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Ponderosa High School... ran cross country and track for coaches Jennifer Devine Pfeifer, Barbara Richardson, Don Aguiar and Ron Ruptier... member of the four time SVC League Champions in track... was named to the Sacramento Bee All-City Second Team as a sophomore, junior and senior... was named the cross country and track MVP for three straight seasons... set personal bests of 19:15 in the 5k, 19:05 in the three mile.

PERSONAL: Born July 19, 1986 in Carmichael, Calif... parents are Wendelin and Kim Ann Burkhardt... has one younger sister named Shana Marie... is a Microbiology major at Roosevelt College... enjoys the piano, reading and tutoring children in her spare time.
