Biography
AS A JUNIOR IN 2004: Ran in six of the team’s seven races... was a team co-captain... had a fifth place showing at the season-opening dual meet with Point Loma, finishing in a time of 22:29.2... finished 11th out of 124 entrants at the UC Irvine Invitational with his 26:09.5 time in the 8k race... finished 18th at the Stegemoller Classic, finishing the race in a time of 25:59... placed fourth at the UCSD Triton Invitational, helping the team to a second place finish with his 26:49.0 time in the 8k event... crossed the finish line in a time of 23:57.90, good enough for 17th place to help the Tritons to a third place team finish at the CCAA Championships... finished 45th at the NCAA Division II West Regional with his time of 34.54, helping the team to a fourth place regional finish.
AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2003: Chosen by his teammates as the Most Improved Runner for 2003... a 1500m specialist in track who adjusted well to the increased distance of cross country... was named the Triton Racer of the Week following his performance at the UCSD Triton Invitational, posting a time of 26:44.5... had a season’s best time of 25:46 in the 8k CCAA Championships... was the team’s fifth place finisher at the NCAA National Championships with a time of 34:17.80 in the 10k race.
AS A FRESHMAN IN 2002: Had one finish in which he earned points for the Tritons as a freshman, finishing eighth in a dual meet against Point Loma to open the season... crossed the finish line in a time of 22:15.8 in that race.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2002 graduate of Davis High School in Davis Calif... played soccer and ran cross country and track for coaches Bill Gregg and Ashley Yudin while at Davis... a member of the 2000 San Joaquin League Champions in both cross country and soccer... earned all-league honors in 2002 for cross country while also being named to the second team All-Sacramento squad... finished 10th at the CIF State meet in the 1600m... had personal bests of 1:59.7 in the 800m, 4:16.9 in the 1600m and 10:00.07 in the 3200m races... was a member of Amnesty International and the Thinking it Through drama group while at Davis.
PERSONAL: Born August 23, 1983 in Sacramento, Calif... parents are Thomas Hagler and Martha Beetley... both parents attended Gonzaga University... has one brother named Andrew... is a Philosophy/Ethnic Studies double major at Marshall College on the UCSD college... enjoys running, hanging out at the beach and kayaking.
