LA JOLLA, Calif. – UC San Diego leads all Big West institutions in the first release of the Division I Learfield Directors' Cup Standings, published Thursday morning. The Tritons have 118 total cup points, buoyed by successful seasons in women's basketball, men's and women's fencing, and women's swimming. UC San Diego's 118 cup points are the most amongst Big West schools. Cal Poly is second with 99.5 to date.
UC San Diego won The Big West regular season and postseason titles in women's basketball. The fencing team captured another women's MPSF title, while boasting two individual men's champions as well as two women's champions. Women's swim had three competing in the NCAA Division I championship last month, earning a team point at that event for the first time.

The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and
USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships. Complete standings and the scoring structure can be found on NACDA's website at
